upgrading exhaut

i needed help buildin my custom exhaust ,i want a 3 in exhaust with cat and down pipe to headers and need some combos that will work. the piping will be welded by me and will only need the cat and down pipe and muf. not sure if i should get the header is it worth it or will the stock evo exhaust mani be good enough .also want mods to be able to work with an evo 16g that im planing later this year

I think you should forget about the header and stay with the evo3 manifold, if that's what you really have. Better flow than a factory 2g manifold and less prone to cracking than a tubular manifold and it'll work great with an evo16g.

I would recommend magnaflow for your muffler and high flow cat. Great flow and sound suppression at the same time.

I had a highflow magnaflow cat and muffler with 3 inch turbo back piping on my old gs-t and was able to pass the sniffer in Cali. And that was with a t3/t4 setup and upgraded fuel system. Visually passing is another story.

As far as using stainless piping, that's up to you and your budget. It will last longer and look prettier but not at all necessary.

As far as the cat delete, just make a "test pipe" that's the same length as your cat. Basically two 3" flanges and roughly 10-15 inches in piping.
