Sup guys. Im wondering if anyone makes an upgraded slave for our cars?

Im over in Japan right now and driving a 180sx while my eclipse sleeps in a garage. And with my 180 I installed a NISMO slave cylinder. Supposedly it has a bigger piston. With this installed it required much less effort to push the clutch pedal compared to before. This is with an upgraded clutch where the pedal was really stiff before. It was great, it felt like a stock clutch again but it wasnt.

I was just thinking why no one makes something like this for our cars? Would be a nice thing to have with an ACT 2600 or greater.

Well theyre real. And I have no idea why one hasnt been made for the dsm. With everyone running these heavy duty pressure plates.

Im going to see if I cant fabricate one of these nismo ones to fit my eclipse.

Hmm. Never heard about the Isuzu one. Does it have a bigger piston then the oem one? Ill have to look into it. Thanks.

I just installed an Isuzu slave on my 1g. It came with my PowerTrain Technologies twin disc clutch setup, it has a larger diameter cylinder. This will equate to more pedal travel for the same amount of clutch engagement - more control and possibly(?) more pressure holding ability. Let me tell you though, installing it was a pain in the ass.

First, the part would not sit flat on the bellhousing - I had to grind half of the "ear" off, the perpendicular part where the bolts go. I got it lined up and centered, and NEITHER of the bolt holes lined up. I clamped it in place, and could not get a center punch to mark it properly. I ended up spraying some paint in there for a good mark. After letting that dry, I placed it in the drill press and drilled my holes. Now that the holes were lined up, I was ready to tap the slave housing to accept the bolts. Guess what, the housing is made of stronger stuff than any tap I could find! I ended up using a set of bolt, split washer, and fiber lock nut to secure the cylinder - if you do it this way I would recommend using at least grade 8 bolts! Also, to see the greatest benefit from this, you'd want to install a hard clutch line.

I have the engine and tranny bolted together but they're still out of the car...I have yet to get the car on the road and let you know how it works...

Personally, if I wasn't running a dual clutch setup (requires shorter travel for disengagement) or a stiff clutch (act 2900 plus or equivalent) I wouldn't worry about the factory slave. It is strong and long lived, and I have heard of VERY few problems with it.
