underhood rust

I have my engine and trans out so now is the time to take care of this the best I can. Just around the welds there are thin lines of ugly rust. Whats the best way to cover this up? I don't want to just brush paint over it, but I was thinking bondo over it and painting that? How would you guys do it?

por 15 is a rust inhibitor, convering it with bondo will not get rid of your rust problem, it will only make it worse. The shit paints on and seals away the rust preventing it form spreading, while giving you a sandable paintable surface. you can get it from the eastwood catalog.http://www.eastwood.com/jump.jsp?itemID=374&itemType=CATEGORY&path=1,2,372,373&KickerID=146&KICKER

hmm I like that stuff a lot .... is that something a local body shop / supply store would sell as well?

I used por-15 on my engine bay. it has worked pretty well so far. You can either brush it on or spray it on using a paint gun. It evens out really well when brushed on, but if you're really concerned about the looks you would be better off spraying.
With por-15, you have to remove any loose rust, dirt, etc... use a metal prep on it, paint the por-15 and then give it a topcoat. You don't absolutely have to do the topcoat, but if not it will fade if exposed to light.
