Alright, so I have a secondary TSI AWD that I'm having a few issues with and one of them has be a little perplexed.
Vehicle Details -
96' Talon AWD
Trans Type - Auto
FMIC With Welded Piping
Stock Turbo
DNP Manifold
3" Exhaust
95' Unsocketed Eprom ECU
Emissions Delete
Issue -
The vehicle is adding a ton of fuel. Hooking it up to a Logging tool, I was able to pull a few codes - a few for emissions, one for the rear 02, one for an Open Circuit on Cylinder 2 injector, and finally "Insufficient Coolant Temp to enter Closed Loop."
Now, per the logger the ECU is seeing accurate temperature from the CTS. During this event the ECU was seeing 195*F. Yet... it's stating that it's reached insufficient temperature. Furthermore, the vehicle's front 02 sensor never switches and simply stays at a steady 0.20v. Now I can't recall off of memory if the front 02 should switch at all times or only when the ECU is in closed loop mode.
Everything else looks normal aside from the ECU adding 12% fuel. I'm not able to log the ISC on this particular logger setup, but it idles at 750ish with the BISS out 1 1/2 turns. There are no boost leaks, no vacuum leaks, just this irritating closed loop issue.
If I could get any sort of direction here it would be great. I suppose my next option is to go with a new front 02 once I can get some confirmation on it's switching habits. I'm aware that it -needs- to switch, but unsure when it should begin.
ECU Default to Open Loop :
Throttle position too high (varies by RPM)
Airflow too low (units are tricky, but it's very low)
Coolant temp < 87F
The O2 sensor did not switch around 0.5v for over 20 seconds while running in closed loop mode. In that case, the ECU locks itself in open loop mode.
