I have a 92 tsi and i unhooked my hose from my stock bov to my stock air intake and blocked off the inlet where the hose hooks to my intake is this safe to do and let the bov vent into air?

No, that's called Venting to Atmosphere, and if you don't have the proper setup to do so, then your car will be running rich during shifts and anytime the BOV sees a vacuum signal from the intake manifold.

Hook that hose back up ASAP until you have the parts necessary to vent correctly.

theres probably 1,000,000,000,000 threads about this on here. No its not ok. Leave it there its there for a reason.

Don't run your car with that hose unhooked, put it back and recirculate it. There is a reason why mitsubishi did it that way.
If you want to vent, then do it correctly and go the cheap route if you may by running a gm maf which can be found at a junkyard and get yourself the translator and you'll be set.

and see this is the thing i was burnning rich before i did this and my idle was off and i coulndt even drive 50 miles on highway and it would burn alittle over a 1/4 of a tank and u could smell it burning too much gas and now it runs better and idles smoother and better gas milage... and answers to that??

Ever think of trying something else first? Say, a new o2 sensor?

If your car is running so poorly that unhooking the BOV dump tube improves how it runs, something's majorly wrong. The BOV now being vented is merely masking another issue.

About 99% of the time a vented BOV will make your car run rich between shifts and often stall when the throttle is cut. The other 1% of the time a vented BOV makes no noticeable change. It NEVER makes the car run leaner.

Hook your dump tube back up, fix the problems at hand, then go from there.

thnx for the help.. i will go to parts store tomrrow and try a new o2 sensor and hope that works.. and if that dont change anything then what r athe list of other things i should check for then???

I'd suggest checking out your o2 sensor too, but don't blindly throw parts at it. Do some research, log your o2 values, investigate.

Good luck.

Simply put, you can run it like that, but your hurting your performance on a stock ecu setup. Later.
