Ok, so I've been searching around and I still haven't found an answer so I'm just gonna ask. Does anybody make an UICP for the 2G that will take the EVO 9 MR BOV? It fits the stock 2G UICP perfectly when you use the little rubber sleeve that's on the stock BOV. Do any aftermarket UICP's exist that take the same size flange as stock??? I'm seriously ready to upgrade!

The short answer is no. This BOV, just like the plastic 2G or plastic Evo 8 BOV, needs to be clamped down by the worm clamp. If you wanted to, you could modify your current OEM UICP and cut off the horrific bend/neck down and replace it with some exhaust piping. There should be a "how-to" somewhere on the net about doing this, I'm just too lazy right now to find it.

However, I have been thinking about modifying one of these MR BOVs so that it can be bolted on to a 1G flange. It would take cutting off the bottom extention and welding on an adapter plate to the BOV. It does seem like a lot of work though for little benefit.

Also take a look at this thread.

Here's another picture of the EVO MR. As you can see, it does have an adapter flange that I think could be taken off. I just don't know what bolt spacing is of the flange.

I know. I used to own one.

I never took apart mine. However, you would still need a trusted shop to make a custom flange to bolt up to a 1G or Greddy flange (or whatever you choose). IIRC, there is a port that runs up the side of the RV, similar to the 1G RV or the pastic Evo 8 RV (you can see the plastic Evo 8 RV here). I would make sure not to block that port off unless you wanted to perform your own version of the Dodge Garage Mod on the Evo MR valve.

Why not just weld on a piece of pipe and then use a short silicone coupler and worm clamp both ends? Just my .02 I dont know if it works but its an idea.

Chris, what you are talking about? Please clarify.

Weld like a 1" diameter pipe to the i/c pipe and then use a silicone coupler to attach the bov to the welded pipe on the i/c piping... something like this eBay Motors: 1 3/8 Adapter BOV Blow off Turbo Intercooler 2.25" pipe (item 380003483473 end time Mar-12-08 19:36:37 PDT)

Yeah, that's the type of thing I was wondering about. I think that would probably work for what I need. Does that type of setup exist in a full UICP or would I need to have someone custom fab it up?

Someone would have to fab it up.

That's what I figured. One thing I've always wondered is why people don't use any type of Silicone intake piping. I know quite a few aftermarket performance applications for different vehicles use Silicone. It just seems like it would be easier to do a custom intercooler pipe setup if you didn't know how to weld, kinda like me, haha. Plus, depending on the type, it can flow and keep out heat just as well as stainless. In looking for a piece like the one "dsmconvict" suggested, other than the one from ebay, I found this site>> Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts They have some pretty cool stuff.

Looks like it'll work just make sure your uicp is 2.5". Good luck with it man.
