Twin turbo? [Merged 11-6]

i give him props for actually doing it though. looks super crowded and a pain to work on. id never attempt it, or even ponder if it was worth it.

i find it great that a single B16g outperforms twin t25's. that goes to show how good these little mitsu turbos really are.

Let's not mention the extra 50lbs of turbo and plumbing. A sequential setup using a turbo properly designed for a 1L engine for the low end and a "larger" turbo like the T25 or a 14b might be an interesting experiment. I can still tell you a single big turbo will make more power though.

no i already asked him though, he said the car was streetable with not that much lag but wasnt quite fast enough for him, but no he never ran it or got it to a dyno so no telling what he was making

Now how does that intercooler work again? LOL
its a PFM intercooler duh! LOL
anybody ever heard of one w/ 4 turbos, a friend told me about it, haven't been able to find anything on it tho

I think the air from the turbo routes to the two bottom sides and then exits out the top, I think, not that it would be a street monster but i give him definitite props for doing it, now i can say yeah this guy i know had a twin turbo eclipse, and not be lying, i hate by the way when people say their uncles cousin has a twin turbo whatever...

I have seen pics of a truck with a LS1 with 4 turbos. But never a dsm.

You may be better off trying to compound the boost rather than run two single turbos. Comounding, for those who don't know, is when you take the boosted pressure from one turbo and re-compress it into the second turbo. Mostly used on tractor pulls and yields about 50psi or more. Sport Compact Car did an article on it once. Really cool stuff. I also give props for creativity, but nothing for engineering or practicality.

almost like SC+TC setups, where the turbo feeds into the SC. the SC takes care of the low end grunt, and the turbo makes up for the top end.

nice idea.. but looks like a mess.. a lot of hardwork for little gratification except saying you did a twin turbo seutp on a dsm..

props on the work though cause i sure wouldnt have tried to do that..

Does anyone Know where i can get some replacement center caps fro the 99 OZ edition GS rims?

why, with an inline configuration there is absolutely no point to using two turbos... the amount of air you will be able to flow with each turbo will be less, and youll have two shafts, both loosing energy to friction... two turbos on an inline engine is just a bad idea if your looking for all out performance... it might help with every day driving,.. but something tells me that even a stock evo will perform better than that kit... it looks like the exaust "manifold" if you want to call it that... is made of paper machet and will fall apart easily... the turbos look about the size of the stock turbos, and unless your engine is pumping some serious power, it shouldnt be able to surpas the stock performance...

bad idea...

Can you say turbo laaaaaaaaaaaaag. The bottom line is that there's just not enough displacement to spool up two turbo's on a 2.0L engine. Its a complete waste.

Isn't the Supra twin turbo a inline configuration?? Thats not the issue, I believe displacement is.

yes and for some reason the people making big power have one turbo ROFL

show me a high hp supra that hasnt switched over to a single turbo set up... they all do for a good reason..
(also dont forget the 240sx, some of those were twin inlines, it works, but a single is better...)

But driveablity is the thing that the factory is after not power output...some ppl think that more is better that is why they will go for the twin turbo set up. not because of power. Also consider the fact that this is a totally custom job...so why made it...how knowledgable were they when they designed this system, if it were a good idea, someone would have already done it.

actually, dont the BIG NOPI GUYS with supra engines use 2 turbos? I believe they do but someone correct me if im wrong.

I think the manifold is wrapper, that's why it looks like that...

Twin turbo dsms... when will there be a rule against threads relating to them???
