turn signal light don't work but hazard

my hazard light work... but my turn signal light work one day and next day it doesn't work. hazard light still works fine now... what happen, what can i check?

I think they are under the dash. Or in the fuse box under the hood. Just turn your flashers on and listen for the clicking sound.

still clicks when it is not working?

Not sure but I would imagine that the left and right turn signal relays are close to the hazard relay.

They use the same relay which is why the hazards still work. U need to replace the actual switch behind the steering wheel. I had the same problem 6 months ago & that fixed it. Be careful pulling the steering wheel if you have air bags. Disconnect the battery for at least 2 minutes before you start.

Yea, I have a CSM (mirage) that has the same problem. It is the switch in the steering column on that car. Go to vfaq.com for a step by step on how to remove the stuff necessary to do this job.

Check your fuses too. The hazard circuit should run off a different circuit than the turn signals.

I am currently having this same problem and read all the threads on it and cannot locate the switch in the steering coulmn that is recommended to be replaced. If anyone can provide a description or a picture I would appreciate it.

It is the switch, had to do that on my old '92, fairly easy, finding a cheap replacement part is the hardest, expect to pay around fifty dollars at a parts yard. Take your steering wheel off and the whole turn signal/wiper blade switch mechanism slides off, one or two small harnesses to unplug. I wouldn't take the relay route right away. Four years in car stereos and very very rarely had a bad relay.

i'm having the same problem.. except that my right brake lights don't work, my right turn signal works up font but not in the rear except for one, so it blicks faster. (kike a bulb is burned out) all bulbs are fine, and hazards work fine.. let me know if you find the problem to this. would the same switch on the steering wheel effect this as well????

OK, I'm going on 2 weeks now driving without proper working signals . First, my signal wont turn off, it stays blinking left (so I just unhook it during daytime), I have taken it apart and found a little plastic piece snapped off, so I proceded to the nearest Junk yard and got another switch and after installing it now the right turn signal wont turn off, kinda halarious to me having 2 switches one for right one for left (good thing I find things humorous ).

I went back to said Junk yard and found myself another switch which took forever since I have a GS-T, out of 7 Eclipse in the yard 2 were GS-T and they were the only ones that had the correct pinouts (go figure can't make anything universal). Anyway the same thing the switch stays blinking. My hazards do work......So any suggestions for replacing fuses, or tapping on the relay to see if anything may happen would be greatly appreciated .

I am having the same problem with my 97 GS. I tried going to the website you mentioned but i can't find the step by step for it

It's a simple job, about 15 mins. You don't need to take the steering wheel off or do anything with relays (just the plastic steering wheel column covers). I didn't even disconnect the battery when I did it last time, a couple of months ago. There are lots of these switches on Ebay for $30-$50.

This is a diagram of the connectors from my alldatadiy. There are two versions for the 2g, this one is for '97-'99. If yours is the earlier version, I actually have that switch around which should be perfectly good.
