alright guys i need some help on this one. a couple days ago i was in my daily driver(1993 eagle talon tsi) when i turned on to the main strip in town and it made and awful noise and just putted out and died on me. i tried to start it right after that and is just turned over, no attempt to fire. my thought was maybe it was the starter because of the whining noise it made when i turned it over. so i put a new one in it with the same result. so back to the basics, check for spark. LOTS of spark. i changed the pack for the fuel injectors and the battery just in case. but no dice, does anyone have any idea whats going on.....i need to get this car back on the road.

Thanks Guys

timing belt is good, i pulled the cover off to make sure it was still in one piece. i guess it could be out of time but there are no signs of it jumping time

ok so i have fuel.... Trust me. it took me lighting my car on fire to prove it but i have fuel. so whats next... does any one know how to check the timing on this thing with a timing light?

I had this happen ot me. the timing belt was in one piece but the theeth striped off the timing belt and the part that the teeth striped off was caught under the crank sprocket allowing the crank to turn but not the cams

the cams are turning. i had my brother sit in it and turn it over with out the timing belt cover on it. so i don't think that is it

Clearly there is something missing. You have spark and fuel, and a lack of air would not cause the end to just stop and then not restart.

Its possible that you have a faulty crankshaft angle sensor or camshaft angle sensor. Do you have access to a scantool or some means of checking for any fault code(s) your ECU may have thrown?

check the timing on the car, not just belt. my car wouldnt kick over either and found out it was the timing on the car. if your cams are lined up correctly, take out the #1 spark plug and look to see if the piston it all the way up, if not your timing jumped

well i have goods news...i found out what was wrong with it. the bad news is in jumped time and bent all my valves in the #1 and #4 cylinders. owell JDM 6 bolt on the way

Thanks for the help guys
