does anyone know where I can get a turbo valve seal for a 14b? my car is smoking out of the exhaust and it is the turbo valve seal that needs to be replaced, anyone know a website maybe where I could get one??

i'm sorry when i said turbo valve seal i meant the turbo seal. not valve seal. but does anyone know if i could just replace it?

The seal itself is not actually a "seal", its like a c clip on the shaft. Do to centrifugal force, it springs outward, and while spinning, it keeps the oil from entering the other side (exhaust or compressor wheel). So essentially, you cannot just buy the seal, you have to get a kit. And once you take off the compressor wheel (which you will to get the shaft out), you will need to get it balanced. A total rebuild of a 14B should be around $200-250 if everything inside is good, and that is with a full breakdown, cleaning, and balancing.

No problem. If you have a hard time finding someone in your area to rebuild it, PM me as there is a diesel specialty shop in town that will do it, including the balancing. Just had my 14B done for $217 out the door, and that was even media blasting the turbine housing and fixing the wastegate flapper.
