turbo timer question

i've got an apexi TT and greddy harness i am going to try and install this weekend.

desired outcome:
while turbo timer is counting down, i want to be able to lock the doors with the remote, arm the factory alarm and walk away.

i've done the searching, and from what i understand instructions:

will help me accomplish this (please correct me if i'm mistaken)

My question lies here:
one of the last steps...
Go now to the HKS TT Harness, the one we put between the two stock plugs at the beginning. Find the blue wire in this harness that runs to the TT unit itself (and only to the TT, not between the ignition plugs), and snip it. Tape up both ends.

Is this "blue" wire the same for the Greddy harness? the instructions refer to the HKS harness.

in 90% sure yer remote wont work while the car is turbo timing.

That really sucks. If I have to wait for the turbo to time down, what is the point of a turbo timer on a car with an alarm? Might as well wait in the car with the engine on. At least I'll have the radio and not be standing in the street like an idiot.

Well I must be the 10% that it does. I have the same exact setup as you are putting in. I have no problems using the remote while it is counting down. Everything works while it is counting down and the alarm arms as it did before. If you have any questions let me know. Good luck

i followed the instructions on vfaq and mine works w/ my factory alarm and remote.

So if you don't use the directoins in the Vfaq your factory alarm will not work with the TT?

I didnt use the VFAQ, and mine works fine as I said.

Well that works for me, where did you get the timer and the harness? And the harness is located right under the steering colum right? Just wondering if this is something that can be done in an afternoon in the parking lot of my dorm thnx in advance.

Yeah, doesn't take long at all. Especially when you have the harness.

anyway, i got a chance to test it yesterday, TT installed properly, without the hack from the vfaq.

RESULTS:
test 1:
-remove key, timer starts countdown from 2:00
-use remote to lock door (this works). SECURITY light doesn't come on.
-wait till timer goes under 1:00 (more than enough time to wait for the alarm to arm
-manually unlock the door and open. car is still on.
alarm does not trigger.

test 2:
-remove key, timer starts countdown from 2:00
-use remote to lock door (this works). SECURITY light doesn't come on.
-wait till car finishes counting down and shuts off.
-wait another minute after.
-manually unlock the door and open.
alarm does not trigger.

i'm gonna try the vfaq hack one of these weekends when the weather holds (gonna be a wet, crappy one this weekend).

well i followed the vfaq at http://ca.dsm.org/FAQ/2gtt-faq.html and it didn't work for me.

Remove key, ebrake on, car shuts off, but TT starts counting down.
The "O/D off" light stays on while it counts down and after it's done, the light turns off.

Also, when the TT is counting down (although the car is off), when I release the ebrake, it continues to count.

Anyone with experience know where I might have gone wrong? I'm not good with electrical stuff and what a bummer it is working under the dash in that cramped space with a zillion wires in the way.

Any help would be appreciated. Luckily, it doesn't interfere with the normal function of the car (it still starts and drives and I can arm the alarm normally with the TT off).
