Hi, I was wondering if someone may be able to help me. I researched this site and around the internet for 3 hours but with no hope.
I finally decided to build my own turbo piece by piece, but I am new, well, VERY NEW at this. I don’t know all the parts I need to put together a turbo. I was wondering if anyone can generate a complete parts list for me.
I have a 99 GS 420a

I love my car, but it is so very slow, and turbo is so much fun. :thumb:

Putting one together yourself is kinda fun, but really annoying sometimes too.

Thanks guys

That is a very general question and can have many different answers depending on what your goals are. You said yourself that you are new to this so pieceing a kit together might not be the best idea for you. You could end up spending alot more time & alot more money then if you got a kit & depending on what combination you end up with you may not be happy with the performance. I think it would be best to post & search the NT forums as this will be the best place to find some answers. If you want to think about maybe going the kit route, www.hahnracecraft.com has a bolt on kit that is supposed to be very good & has room to grow if your plans change in the future. www.slowboyracing.com has also recently introduced a NT, turbo kit. They produce some great parts for our cars so I would imagine this kit would be up to their normal standards.

Thanksdaren_p. Thats very sound advice. I'm going to look into the Hahn kit and save for it. Someone has a turbo on ebay, "Thestreetsource", his name is Mike. Good guy, so Ill look into both. Thanks again :)

Do you have a link to the turbo or the turbo kit that your looking at on ebay? If your new to the turbo/performance scene you have to be careful with Ebay. Not to say that there aren't alot of great/real products on there but nowadays you see more and more knock offs products. You just need to do your research (look at pics, get specs, part numbers etc) first before you get yourself in a jackpot.

Yea, I have a link go here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DOHC...ewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ8045623852QQrdZ1
, I talked to him, (Mike) for a month or a lil longer thur emails, and I'm strongly leaning toward it, but the price, its so low, makes me thing something just isnt right, but I've never heard a bad thing about his stuff as of yet, and ive done alot of searching so far.
If you dont mind, tell me what you think.

Thanks

Basic main things you need are :

1.Turbo Manifold
2.Turbo
3.Lots of piping and fittings
4.Intercooler (Could do without it, but if your going turbo, do it right)
5.Blow off valve
6.Oil lines and hardware
7.Downpipe to connect to exhaust pipe from turbo
8.Boost guage (not needed, but you want to know how much boost your running)
9.MAP check valve to trick you MAP sensor.
10.Wastegate (if your not internally wastegated)
11.And Gaskets and whatnots.

This will help. http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html
