Turbo is making a weird whining noise.

I took a video w/ sound:

Turbo Sound

Can someone listen to it and help me figure out what's going on? Took off the intake pipe, nothing seems wrong, turbo spins freely just like it did before. I went down the road and it was boosting fine, normal sounds, shut the car off for about 20 minutes, came back out and first time I hit boost got that sound.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Thanks!

Jason

Ok, found out what it was.....

You know when you take a wrapper from a stick of gum and blow on it to make it make that weird sound, that's basically what it was. A bolt on the blow off valve came lose, and the gasket was getting air blown on it under boost.

I feel like an idiot, but at least it's fixed now. :)

My '98 GST does the same thing. It starts to whine around 15 psi, but doesn't under 15 psi...I switched BOVs and still no luck...I checked the shaft play on my turbo and there was minimal up and down play, but nothing extreme. Could it possibly be a boost leak somewhere???

I am sorry for bumping, but I have recently noticed I have the same problem. It makes a weird whistling/whining sound when under boost the first 5 or 6 mins of driving then it is fine until I turn my car off for an hour then it does it again. Anyone have any ideas?
