turbo laser vs. 71 monte carlo with a 468?

my boss has a monte carlo with a 454 bored .60 over. he runs 7.97 in the 1/8 mile. i need to know what all do i need to keep up with him. i need to beat him but if i can just keep up then it would be good too. he is one of those "imports suck" type of guy. i told him that running a 7.97 in the 1/8 mile with a big bad ass v8, is not impressive at all. hes got a lot of stuff done to this car that includes a 250 shot of nos. thats right, im not b.s. he told me thats how big his shot is. i want to beat him badly. we are suppose to race next march.cause i just got my laser running and am just now modding it. by the time next march comes around i should be pushing around 400 hp. i hope. maybe more. this is where i need your help. what all do i need to kick his ass. keep in mind my car is a fwd.

youll ned quite a bit of stuff to keep up, a 250 shot for big blocks isnt a "BIG shot"....
Tell him your car isnt an import and blow his mind he wont know what hit him.

i know i will need alot of stuff but i also know that it is possible. i figured that a 7.97 is about a 12.3-5 in the 1/4 mile. there are alot of dsm's in the 12's. i just need to know what mods i will need at the least. like i said, i am just getting started with my car. and this is my dream so all my money goes to my car. i need to beat him to prove that all imports arent that bad. help me out here guys.

full exhaust, ic pipes fuel pump, safc, intake with pipe, mbc set at 22-23psiand clutch.... with that if he is running 12s then youll beat him on the highway, also loose some more weight and youll even the odds a little more. Oh and quit calling your car an import it isnt at all an import...and good luck

your gonna need fuel mods in the area of walbro 255, Safc2, and about 660cc injectors or higher. Full exhaust from the turbo back. Alot of suspension work in order to get any kind of traction for the launches plus a pair of slicks would help. Your gonna need a heavier duty clutch like the act 2100. Upgrade the intercooler, go with some sort of front mount would be the best with an upgraded bov or just crush your own. Get some arp headstuds in order to hold any crazy amount of boost that you will be pushing, and get some nice either 264 or 272 cams. And last your gonna need a nice big turbo and you probably want it to be ball bearing just so it spools alot quicker. My friend has a 3052 with about the same type of setup on a awd and he gets into the eleven 1/4 mile with race gas.

thats what i needed. thanx for the info. i am getting my exhuast done tomorrow. and how is my car not an import. its the same an eclipse (mitsubishi is an import). oh one more thing, he wants to race at the track,not the highway. i have until next march, so hopefully by then i will have all the mods i need to beat him.by suspension mods, what do i need.

no dsm was imported...the ones that are overseas(very very few)are exports from America. They were designed and built here by chrysler and mitsu america, they werent very popular over seas. Oh and the fact that they have over 70% american content making them a bonifide american domestic...

no it is not, hondas were BUILT here but there content is all japan. The parts were shipped from japan and asembled here to save money for honda. The parts on dsm's are 70%+ AMERICAN made content, and all of them were built here. The only parts were engine parts...in fact your cars paint code is a dodge paint code.The list goes on...but I do see where your coming from but its totally diferent for dsm's as I said.

dodge doesnt make the 4g63 turbo motors do they? i just had an argument with my cousin cause told me that dodge makes my motor. i think he is full of it. the paint code may be dodge but they dont have n e thing to do with making the motor. they probablly put the motor in my car but thats not what i mean. thats messed up. so your telling me that my car is a dodge.

No, Mitsubishi made your motor. Chrysler made the 95-99 Non turbo DSM engines.

Your friend is wrong..and Im not telling you your car is a dodge, it is a plymouth with a mitsu engine in it. merley that it isnt and import, I said that the part content on a dsm is 70%+ American and the rest is mitsu(engine stuff).

exactly...all they did was switch around the motor so that the exhaust mani was in front(neons have it in the rear).
