turbo is maxing out at right away

idk what the deal is..i have a 16g turbo on my talon and wen i get on it itll spool up and work how it should untill like 30 mph n then it maxes out and the turbo wont spool anymore it just stays at max..idk if its the wastegate actuator or what like need a bigger one or ### and should i have the bov at hard of soft
 
ok..that was what my plan was tomaro was that..but i was wonderin..do u think a bigger wastegate actuator would be better ### i only have stock one now and about the bov..should it be ran at hard, soft or in the middle
 
First off, do you have a boost gauge and if so what boost are you seeing. Second check the wastegate and see if it's frozen shut. Take the arm off and try to move the flapper, if it won't move it's frozen shut. If it is you need to get it to move again or figure out why it's stuck. Please don't drive the car anymore till you figure things out, or your going to end up blowing something up. Also try to describe your symptoms alittle better so we can all help you out. Since you mentioned your bov. What type is it and is it vented or recirculated like it should be.
 
Are you running a boost controller? What its set at? What psi are you maxing out at? I would stay at or below 14 psi on stock fuel. If your running a stock down pipe and unported o2 then that is probably where your problem on spool is.
 
im running 10 to 11 psi for boost right now and no the wastgate actuator is not froze and the boost gage im talking about it the stock one on left hand side next to oil pressure is the one that maxes out ounce i hit like 30 mph..so therefore im thinkin i have a boost leak ### before it was doin this the turbo would spool up like should and take off and not max out so idk if its a leak or what..do i need a bigger wastegate actuator for my 16g turbo ### right now its the stock one..and about the bov?? hard, soft or what..
 
That gauge is useless.

Get a real boost gauge, you have no clue what the boost pressure is actually reading, and yeah that gauge will max out practically as soon as the car is seeing positive turbo pressure.

There really aren't any wga upgrades. You can shim the stock one so it holds more boost. But you shouldn't have any issues with the 16g not holding enough boost. Mine was spiking on every MBC I tried, and it still spikes to 14 or 15 psi occasionally. If you can't monitor knock, and AFRs then you should just leave it alone.

Ok probably best to say, GET A REAL BOOST GAUGE. Stock ones not going to tell you crap bro. Also get ecmlink or somthing to tune/monitor with before you do anything else. No you don't need a bigger wastegate the stock should be fine. I'm running 25psi on my 8-10psi wastgate. If you wanna adjust boost you need a boost controller to do that. But at this point don't worry about that. Since this started what did you do to the car? I strongly suggest a boost leak test also before you go any furthur. Does your 16g have a jpipe on it, if so that's a prime spot for a leak. As far a bov goes you have to play with it honestly. To hard you will surge and to soft it will blow open to early. What brand bov do you have? For now just leave it alittle soft till you figure out the real problem.
 
ok i was windering if that guage was junk n i have a sunpro boost psi guage that i hooked up n that the one that shows that boost is at 10 0r 11 psi..i guess the only thing im lost with is that my turbbo only feels like it works till like 30 mph then seems like no power from it so im thinkin its gotta be a leak or what
 
Yup sounds like a boost leak to me. Bro update your profile it helps alot when you ask these ?. We can check that quick and understand alittle better, ever detail counts. Do a boost leak test then get back to us. You know how to do one right. P.S. use proper gramar and spelling please, that's the way we like it here. :)
 
bov is a greddy..n only thing done to car is the cold air intake its a injen, and all new gates timing belt, the turbo n i have a intercooler but its not hooked up at the momment..just the stock ones are, and i have a boost controller and idk how to hook it up ive heard of many diff ways they been hooked up so idk what way to follow
 
I would do a boost leak test, but to be frank it may just be hitting full spool. If your on the stock wastegate with no controller and stock downpipe, your going to hit full boost quickly. And the 16g doesn't really come allive until 10psi. And the stock wastegate will crack at 12 psi. So your only feeling it pull hard for a second or two before it hits full spool and your airflow levels out.
 
Not trying to be a dick, but you really need to read up on dsm's and modding them. Do the research first then do the mods. Don't just start throwing things on the car before you really understand how they work. That's a real fast way to make things go booooooommmmm. We are here to help and there is so much info on this site to teach you all you need to know. Like stated above with stock fuel system and bcs, your not going to see much boost. So with stock bcs allowing only about 14psi and you having a 16g which flows more than a t25 ever will. It makes sense your only seeing 11-12psi boost. haha..that is exzactly what it does i was racing a stang the other night and i pulled from him while the turbo was still spooling but ounce it hit full spool around 100 mph it seemed as car didnt wanna go any faster so what u just said makes perfect sense..thanks alot..so i needa hook intercooler up, boost controoler, and then mess with psi and run it where feels the best and go from there

ha its ok man ## fine..im really new to this stuff and idk to much i now basics but turbo stuff and crap is very new to me i got this car blown up and baught a new used motor with 25000 on it and tore apart and put all new pullys and gates timing belts in it and new seals etc..i wanted to start stock n learn along the way..thanks for the help and i will read up more on dsms..ive had no probs but the turbo hittin full spool real early is all so hopefully i can fing a boost leak tomaro if got one n fix that n hook intercooler n shit up n go from there
 
Please used proper grammar bro, ok those greddy bov are just for sound, if i was you i would get a 1g bov. Your boostleak is at the jpipe maybe one or intercooler piping, if you using the stock one those are old and they break check those too... Remenber a 16g turbo flows more air than a t25 turbo so check all boost leaks. :)
 
Have fun tearing up your car and/or going to jail man. We tried to give you advice, every person on here has told you to run a boost leak test. But if you don't listen your going to continue to run rich, loose horsepower, and if you go hooking up that MBC and playing with boost before you can even monitor AFRs then your on a 1 way trip to buying a new engine.
 
i just said i was running one tomaro..but i said thank u for the advice and i will hook a dsm link up as well i dont have one but my friend has one n il hook it up tomaro n do a boost leak and hook up intercooler and what not and use the tips u guys have told me..thank u guys again

You can't just hook a dsmlink cable up, you would have to use his ecu, and i assume that he probably wants to keep that in his car.

Thanks, and also your turbo is not even close to hitting full boost expectially on stock fuel system and bcs. I can already see your next post bro. Installed mbc and now car feels like it hits a brick wall. Please search and find out what I mean before you install any kind of boost controller.
