I own a 99 GST. I am in the middle of having a 1g bottom end and 2g head motor swap done. I am in the process of getting a big 16g evo III turbo, a set of evo 8 injectors, and tubular turbo manifold to add on at the same time. My current upgrades include intake, fmic, bov recirculated, Apexi 3" downpipe, straight pipe, and exhaust. What other upgrades would you guys suggest?

Sounds like you got a good start, but you need a fuel pump , monitoring/logging, and something to control your injectors with. Being you have a 99 ECU you are in luck. Purchase the tactrix 2.0 cable ($200). Download ECUflash (free) which allows full control over all the features within the 98/99 ecu including injector scaling and fuel trim adjustments. You will most likely want to purchase Evuscan ($25) and a wideband sensor/gauge (200+). Including the wideband your still under the price it would cost to buy a eprom ecu & ecmflash

Rocafella...what size fuel pump do you recommend? What areyou referring to as far as monitoring/logging? I know I am going to need a A/F controller for sure. I am new to the whole turbo thing, but am a quick learner. I appreciate the info on the ecu tuning suggestions. All I have heard about is DSMlink and eprom.

Ok here is good way to put it:
Walbro 190lph is good for like 350-400 hp, 255lph is good way up but you will also need a adjustable fuel pressure regulator (about $190) so you have to decide on that.
Monitoring/Logging = Evoscan (laptop logger) & Wideband (reads air/fuel ratio)
Air/Fuel controller = Ecuflash ( a free program used to tune when connected to your ecu via the $200 tactrix cable)
Dsmlink is good. But unless you have a 95 you will more then likely need to buy a eprom ecu. Dsmlink, and the cable. So you see why this is a great option that cost less. Look up ceddy on these forums and his thread titled "first flashed ecu" or something. Oh yeah make sure all your maintnence is up to date: timing belt, plugs, wires, brakes, tires, and fluids.

Aaaahh...I see, I see. I think 190 will do me fine, as I want to keep this my daily driver. Just to make sure I understand correctly, If I download Ecuflash and purchase the cable, then I don't need to purchase and Air/Fuel controller because I can do the tuning with my laptop. Is that right?! Sounds like I am going to love that program.

Yea 190 will do fine for your probable goals. Correct no need for a SAFC, ecuflash will be your Air/fuel controller. Here is two places you should really start reading:

http://ceddy.us/

Now when you purchase your cord you will get a code to download ecuflash for free. The program is pretty simple to use, read ceddys guides and watch ecuflash tutorial videos on youtube to familiarize yourself with the program before you go changing settings. Good luck and don't forget MAINTENANCE IS THE KEY !

Thanks for the good info! You came with exactly what I was loooking for. :thumb: I will be educating myself as I piece things together.

I have Evoscan and Ecuflash and will recomend it to anyone who wants a true tunning program. The cost of everything damn near equals that of ECMlink without a wideband which you will need. Tunning with it can be a little tricky for beginners but youll get the hang of it quickly. Not to mention the fact that Ceddy is here and 99% of the time can help you with any questions, but dont rely soley on him as im sure he's busy with everyone else on the boards asking him redundant question's such as myself LOL... Good luck bro!

Good info DSMunkown. I see you like the EVO upgrade path. I will definitely be reading into your posts. Thanks!
