Hey guys!

I have a '95 GST bone stock at 75,000 miles and my Turbo seems to be going bad. The car is burning oil and it doesn't seem as fast as it used to be. That is the only issue with it, it's not overheating or anything. My mechanic checked and said that it's the turbo going bad, other guys around here said that their stock turbos lasted 80,000 miles so it seems reasonable.

I thinking about upgrading to a Evo III 16g so here's my question: Can I run the car with the 16g without any other upgrade (not expecting any power gains or anything, running stock pressure and everything), so that I can do them later when I have the money for them (Fuel system, ECMLink, injectors, etc.)? Also, is everything included on those install kits those vendors (like ExtremePSI and Forced Performance) put together all that it's needed? I've heard somewhere that there were other stuff needed, like the Evo III O2 Housing.

Thanks!

If you want to spend the extra money..The fp big t28 is a direct bolt on for 2g's and requires no modification or install kit..

You can run a 16 on Wg pressure, but it's not reccomended..I have done it, never had a problem..But most people would reccomend you have at least some kind of logger to moniter knock..

And I have a Forced Performance 68hta for sale! (715-808-2280, text me! ;) but yea you can run the 16g, but its risky. I would highly recommend investing in a tuning system, and upgrading a few parts. You engine will need more fuel. Id recommend a walbro 255 fuel pump. there like $90, and they flow like mad. (255lph) but with this pump, you need an AFPR(aftermarket fuel pressure regulator). to get more fuel into the engine, you need injectors. Injector sizing varies a lot depending on your setup. Id say run 650's dialed down. TUNING SYSTEM! so you can control your fueling and moniter knock. knock=time for new engine. Headstuds and head gasket are a good investment. Under more boost, your engine head will 'lift' off the block from extra pressures. these will prevent that. Mitsubishi Layered steal is a great gasket, and ARP headstuds will hold just fine. hope this helps!

Not the classified section..But I might be interested in the 68hta..Pm sent..

It wouldn't be worth it to rebuild it here in Brazil, I doubt anybody could do this right (without costing more than a new turbo, at least. This kindo of thing is expensive here). So what's exactly the problem of running the 16g at wastegate pressure, is it much higher than the T25? Also Forced Performance is offering a 255 lph Fuel Pump with the 16g, would that and the AFPR solve the problem? Will I really need to buy injectors (and because of that some tuning device) to make it run right?

If you plan on getting the 16g from fp and get the 255, all you will need to get is the afpr. After all that is in run it on wastegate pressure and you'll be fine.

Does it have blow-by at all when boosting. have someone folow you when you.. See if they see anything coming out the exhaust. I would check around for a evo manifold and T28 setup. good well rounded setup and should be pretty easy to come by then again 16g is pretty easy as well.

If buying an EVO III 16g from a vendor, just ask and they shall provide the answers. They are very helpful.
As far as safety, there is no need to increase fuel, or even "retune" if you're just bolting it up. TSI Kid is correct, keep it at stock boost and you will be fine. Do not up the boost without proper gauges (boost and wideband), fuel mods (pump & injectors), and tuning device with way to log.

Also a dab of rtv black on the oil return gaskets works wonders to prevent oil leaks. You'll see...
