is it possible to put a turbo ecu into a nt 2.0? i heard u can but am not positive. any feed back would be appreciated

No the fuel maps are differnet, also I believe there is an extra resistor in the turbo car on the ECU then there is in the N/T cars.

you can but you'll be missing abotu 4 wires that the ecu is going to expect to see signals from. i had a full turbo wiring harness and everything on mine at one point and then i spun a bearing in the bottom end and had to switch back to nt. the car would never rev past 4500 pms since it had no idea what was going on because the fuel maps were so far off. it was like driving around with an intercooler hose blown off above 4500rpm.

I know this one is old as dirt but I can't create a new thread quite yet.... so I'll branch this one because it's the only one CLOSE to what I have.

I have a 95 GST, needs a motor and I have my 90 GS (4G63 N/T 6-Bolt). I was wondering if it would be driveable considering I do need this on the road. How would the Turbo ECU and all that react to a non-turbo 4G63... I'll slap the factory turbo on it once I get it in....but would it be possible to run this safely? Just going maybe 30miles a day. Thanks for any input.

Oh, and could I use the NT Flywheel on the Turbo tranny with a 2g turbo clutch? Just off hand question, if not, what generation kit should I buy? I assume the 1g Turbo clutch since my motor is a 6 bolt.... Thanks!

That's what I thought too, thanks for the 2nd opinion on it. Now, what about the 4g64 ECU? I assume the ones in the 2g Spyders are the same as the 3g GS's? If so, could I swap the Turbo ECU with the 4g64 ECU and run the NT 6-bolt a little better? I'm still learning my way through DSM's and the 4g engines, I used to own a 95 GS....and I know those motors have NOTHING in common LOL. Just asking before I dump money into a temporary thing. Thanks :thumb:

I'm curious why you would want to buy an ecu for a different engine, but wouldn't just buy the correct ecu for your car?

Well I haven't bought any of the parts. The guy I bought my GST from said that it would run a little rich but it would run pretty good. He had the most beat up 3g parts car, I didn't even know it was a 3g till he pulled the ECU LOL. Anyways, he gave me alot of new free parts including 2g turbo pistons, 2g rods (which I probably won't use since I have 1g "big" rods). He had no use for the ECU and I have my NT ready to drop in, but I'd rather not tear it up in a week. I just need it to get around town. Just wondering if anyone tried the 4g64 ecu on a 4g63 nt. I'm thinkin it would work. I would use the NT ECU from my 90 GS but It won't hook up like this one does. Thanks guys :thumb:

Ok, you can use the 95 GS-T Ecu for the 90 NT engine. As far as the sensors and wiring just make sure that you do the same as you would for a 6-bolt turbo swap. As for your trans you need to find a 1G FWD Turbo flywheel.
