If i added up the time i've done searching on which turbo to run it would prolly ad up to a solid 2 weeks. The problem is i cant decide what turbo to buy and before i spend over a grand i'd really like to see what it feels like ive pretty much boiled down to either a 20g or fp green. Ive never ridden in a dsm with either of the turbos and i would really really like to if anyone could be nice enough to give me a ride even if its a turbo similar i would appriciate it a lot. Biggest turbo ive ridden in was a 14b and i thought that wasnt bad at all. I know i'm in for somethin else :)

Looks like you've done a good job researching. FP Green and Mitsu 20g are by far the two most proven street/strip turbos in DSM history. You can't go wrong with either.

I plan on going 20g once I max out my 16g, which won't be for a while. Check out this FP 20g with a TD06 exhaust wheel. This is a smoking deal, a good 450 dollars less than a green.

You know what thats really weird i'm actually watching that item on my ebay. I was about to buy it but something just seemed sketchy about it, i called the number on the web page and the guy seems like he doesnt really know what he's talkin about. It looks fp offical with the little fp circle stamps on it but if fp is selling it for 1,150 then hows this guy selling it for only 840? I dunno about the whole ebay thing...

I agree, it does seem a little fishy.

The guy who owns the shop is Tym Switzer, the same guy who worked with Buschur since the begining of time. He was the first to run a 10 second quarter in a DSM, on a 20G no less. I imagine it wasn't him who answered when you called.

Seems like he moved on and runs his own shop now. I know he worked with FP recently, and he probably is a turbo vendor for them.

I would just call up FP and see whether this place does indeed source their 20g's from them. Then call up the ebay store and ask to talk to Tym.

Yeah good call. Ive tried calling fp a good amount of times and no answer i dunno they must be busy there i guess. I just really dont feel comfortable buying off ebay i'd rather buy straight from a vendor and know exactly what im getting and i know for sure i'll get it u know. I know there more people on here in or around my area come on now!!!

ha i appriciate it. I know theres people local on here that have read this i figured i would come to dsmtuners for some help but i guess not im just gonna buy the tdo6 20g and see what happens.

I will be the first to say no to a 20g. It is only a 45lb/min wheel which simply just isn't enough for someon wantiong good power. I was flowing 44 lb/min in mig 90 deg temps and 20 % humidity. 100% stock 2g longblock except HKs 264/272s @ 27-28 psi. That maxes out your 20g for sure, and on a very simple set up.

I really dont know what to think. Its up and down here ive seen tort do a 11.01 on only a tdo5 20g and a few other people do 11.5's on the fp green. Both turbos have hit 10's. I guess it depends on whos hands the turbo is in. Have you guys ever had trouble trying to reach forced performance? Ive called a couple times and cant get ahold of them.

frankly the fp green is a great feeling turbo. Some friends have 'em in their cars, and they're running mid to low elevens quite happily.

For the same price new though, you could get the FP3052 which is ball bearing, and an upgrade that many people i know are making (or have made). There's a fellow up here in the northwest who is running over 25psi on pump gas with zero knock. The turbo is *very* efficient at high boost, and loves pump.

Frankly, for a street/strip turbo, if you want something bigger than an Evo3, I don't think there's a better choice.

I'm going to do a 3052 on my galant, once i have some more supporting mods done. :thumb:

LOL!

Ask Tort if his 20g is making "good" power. He is one .1 away from breaking the 10 sec. barrier.... his car has also gone 126 mph. OMG

It all boils down to what you want in your setup. If you want 550 whp, do not buy a 20g. if you want a street bruiser that will EASILY run 11s at the track and rape probably anything you encounter on the street, yet still spool up before 3700 rpm, buy the td06-20g....its a kick ass turbo.

I run an FP Green by the way. I love it too... :thumb:

I think the tdo6 20g will suit me perfectly. Like you guys said full boost by 3700 rpms and plenty of top end to keep me happy. Im doing cams same time with the turbo i cant decide between fp2 cams or the fp3's what do u guys think keeping in mind the car will be driven almost everyday. I'd love to buy the fp 3052 but that involves a new 02 housing, bigger wastegate, possibly new downpipe. I've already bought all of those so i'd be killin myself if my car was all stock and i set my mind on the fp 3052 then i'd buy it and buy all those things once and thats it. Just ordered my tdo6 20g today from sbr :thumb: its all about what turbo suits you. Im not looking for 550whp so theres no point in buying something bigger then the 20g i just wanted something more then the evo 16g. Ive seen so many people buy an evo 16g and upgrade a few months later because they are tired of it i'd be one of those people and i definitly dont want that, so you buy big once and forget about it. Just go look in the classified ads right now and see how many evo 16g's are for sale and look for how many 20g's are for sale. Thank all of you for helping me choose which way to go, everyone has been extremely helpful.
