Turbo death?

Aye, I figured this would be the best place to put this so, im driving like anyother day my gsx goes to shift & the turbo teaks out, it gives off so much lag with no boost it jerks like 4 5 times foward like the boost is going into spirts instead of one whole boost. The non so reliable stock boost gauge says the turbine is still a spinin but im getting the teak boost. Also a burnt rubber smell is coming from my engine (& i replaced all my belt about <10,000miles ago) so i was asuming its from the turbo housing. SOOOO is my turbo dead & if my turbo is dead can i still drive it without damage

I've been driving around & noticed that ill get a boost from 1-2gear but after that I get no boost. So your probably right just a boost leak...yeah!

Yea boost leak is my guess. But are you having any smoke come out of your exhaust while it jerks, or just driving?

Pull the intake pipe off and check for shaft play. It's 1 clamp on a stock intake and takes all of 10 min at most.

If the wheels are contacting the housing at all (you'd probably hear it, I did) then you don't want to drive it for long. While the intercooler may stop some of the bigger pieces, do you want to risk sucking metal in any form into your engine?

Naw man i got nothing. So this is what happened today. I still get a boost in all gears execpt 4th & somtimes 3rd. When my gsx goes to shirft from 3rd-4th it kinda miss fires or fall on its face trying to shift & causes the rpms to drop & rise 200-300rpms. Do you think this is ### of a bad fuel filter or maybe bad injectors?

First thing I'd do is pull the plugs and wires and have a look over them. Have you replaced them lately? Sounds fuel related, but could possibly be timing also (worst case scenario in my head).
