I'm facing the similar problem just after upgrading to a 3076. My turbine housing was big (1.06ar) so i'm changing it first; lets see if that resolves the issue.
This is very confusing...i'm keeping a close eye on this thread, might face the similar issue

If you're using platinum plugs your boost will flutter/bounce at a certain PSI because the plugs are getting too hot and igniting the fuel at the wrong time due to their temperature.

the tac is not working, but I would say around 3k to mid,

we are going to replace the exhaust manifold for 2g ported one.

if none is a cure then i will have doubts on my manifold, go back to the stock one and then try.

we had a similiar issue with a custom manifold (it was a divided for a divided t4 turbo flange).... switched back to stock and it was resolved.

Have you checked the mechanical aspects of the turbo? A compressor wheel rubbing on the housing is going to inhibit its ability to build boost.

CHECK FOR SHAFT PLAY.

And buy some NGK BPR7ES plugs. They're cheap (less than $2 a plug) and will cure all your ignition woes.

Id be willing to bet that the 2inch exhaust is part of the problem

i doubt this could be the problem. the stock 16g downpipe is 2/2.25" as well but i myself have taken it to 30psi without any issues (the rest of my piping is 3" without CAT)

Could it be the intake gaskit leak?
I'm eagerly waiting for the updates

one of the pipe blow and we found other leak exactly on the TB gasket and the Intercooler have a hole (he did recently since he is driving without bumper), as soon we fix the leaks and the blown pipe we are going to test again, now the boost drop from 10 to 8.

the manifold replacement is still pending.

just a update, still not news, the colt owner is going to build the intercooler pipes and upgrade the intercooler, a soon the car is back for test am going to post any update.

I had the same issue as the OP and i found out the problem was i didn't install the valve seat on my 44mm tial. It must have fallen out and i didn't notice... so anyone who has this problem check to make sure the valve seat on your external wastegate is installed

^^^Common issue with external gates but the OP's on a internal E3. Try pulling the intercooler and putting a pipe in it's place to rule out a cheap restrictive intercooler and pull off the air filter as it may be really dirty and clogged. If that don't fix it then look into fuel and make sure it's not crazy lean.

ok and the winner was: small size exhaust system, as soon he upgrade the straight pipe to the passenger side of the car on 3" the boost increase like crazy, so we have to put again the MBC and set it to the correct psi.

sorry for the delay, this was 3 weeks ago, he sold the care to another friend and he was investing in paint, and better quality parts.

again the problem was the exhaust system was to small 2" , upgrade to 3"and is solved. some of you was completely right.
