turbo 1.8?????

first of all how many times has it been done and did it work..
second can the motor carry it and can it handle it
third who did it
fourth i need instructions.......

see i have an ihi turbo from a mazda that i am gonna retrofit to this damn thing and i wanna know if it will work any info would be appreciated

i have no clue about turboing a 1.8l, but id say it would be an excellent idea just so you could get it to move out of its own way. i really wouldnt expect to make it a performance application because they are so dog piss slow to begin with and they prolly wouldnt be too fast with a turbo but it would be kind of neat. try it and get back on it to let us know wat happens. hopefully the motor wont incinerate but let us know. good luck.

One has succeeded.

Honestly, as much of a custom setup he has, I doubt he'll share what he fully did. Refer to that thread posted above or in the non-turbo section "1.8L turboed finally" posted by compression. He posted a few tidbits in there under Ginsu417. He made a write up on dsmtalk, but thats now gone.

thanks for the link i checked it out not much info there but i gained some knowledge but dude was sayin with this turbo thing he did he is smoking 2.0 n/t hmmmmmmmmm
i thought that that was a common thing cause I can take a stock n/t well i aint quite stockneither

the stock n/t have 141 hp is it? and the 1.8's hae 92 yea.. and i beat them by quite a bit maybe 3 car links
