Topic speaks for itself. I just had my AEM EUGO installed over the weekend. I currently have SAFC, 720s, 255 and FPR. My 50-trim is set at 12lbs, and before I adjust the boost, I want to tune it to its peak for where it’s set now. I spoke w/some DSM guys, who weren’t too familiar w/widebands, and they informed me I shouldn’t be adjusting anything until I get a logger. Should I, or can I, tune off just my AFR or should I be going off knock, timing etc....if so, what dataloggers are recommended for a reasonable price? I am new to the whole tuning area, so any consideration will be appreciated, thanks!

You CAN tune without a wideband, but if you had one, it'd be better. As far as loggers go, if you want cheap, you can just get a pocketlogger or something if you have a palm pilot or a simple program if you have a laptop.

You can live without the logger, but it'd be pretty nice to know your knock count. Even if you don't have any real knock, if the sensor is picking up something as knock and retarding your timing, you will never know with just the wideband. You'd be tuning with 33% of the data you should have, therefore, your tune will never be what it could be.

Woah. Just reread your post. With injectors that large, using an AFC is a poor method. Scrap the AFC and forget about a logger. Get DSMlink and have everything you need in one place.

You do need to get a logger and log knock, timing, rpm, and maybe IDC's. You still need to watch the WB though makin sure you don't melt anything. I'm not sure on prices or suggestions on a good logger because i stole my buddies and his WB and narrowband since his is down for a while, but you could go to pocketlogger.com to see what loggers are compatible and for alot of other info. You can't be sure whats going on without it, it helped me out ALOT.

Thanks guys!! I'll proceed towards DSMlink and go from there....anyone interested in a SAFC ;)

You will be much happier with it, trust me. I can't wait to have it for myself now that I've seen it on other's cars.
