Hello and thanks for any help in advance. Basically this is my first time tuning with SAFC II, just put all these parts on my car about 3 weeks ago ie. (1g PR FMIC, Walbro 255, AFPR, EVO 560CC Injectors, SAFCII), and im trying to get a good tune for about 19 psi.

In SAFCII my low curve runs from -20 @ 1k rpm to -16 @7k rpm. My High Curve runs from -20 @1k rpm to +4 @ 7k rpm. I don't have an EGT or a Wideband, just a laptop running TMO. This is the only way i can eliminate knock and keep my factory O2 around .88 running 93 octane.

I know i get phantom knock sometimes but not often. Basically should i have to set the SAFC clear to +4 to get the fuel i need? I'm sure i would get fuel cut in the upper rpms of higher gears making it see that much air and i don't know if im running out of injector since i am unable to log IDC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With 560cc's no you shouldn't have to set it to +4. Its been a while since I've played with a S-AFC, but have you check out the write ups on this site? They are very helpful. And since you have TMO to log you should be able to set your S-AFC following the write up. The second link will tell you how to set your fuel trims.

Hope that helps.

get a wideband first before messing with the safc... just adjust the afc hi-throttle at base -19 ... full wot pull in 3rd gear ... see what your afr is in that run and minus or add fuel as neccessary to achieve the 11.0:1 - 11.5:1 AFR

OP, you are on the right track. And you may very well need to dial in some positive adjustment on the upper end...I had even more of a positive adjustment with my 550's and an E316g at that boost level. It did help to bring on fuel cut sooner, though, and I ultimately ended up turning boost down a little so that my adjustments cold come down as well.

Keep logging airflow, timing, and rpms, as that's really all you need to get a relatively safe tune. The narrowband o2 is a decent guideline, but not the best...I never logged it. I tuned like that for a couple of years, and was trouble-free for that time, with a conservative approach. Watch for timing to rise smoothly once your turbo is spooled up, and either add fuel at the rpm where you are seeing timing being pulled, or reduce boost overall if you are overrunning your injectors (where no increase in safc settings gets your timing in check). Stop raising boost pressure once your airflow does not increase with the higher psi's, as you are just generating heat at that point, and doing more harm that good in the long run.

All that being said, I highly recommend a WBo2 setup as well, and after installing one in my car will not ever go without one again. It makes tuning a far more precise operation, and really is cheap insurance against melting pistons and valves.

There are tons of threads here on Tuners about safc/logger tuning. Anything with Spyderturbo007 as a contributor will have some good, sound advice. He's set me straight a number of times LOL.
