tuning questions

Ok, I've read through all of the articles on how to properly tune your S-AFC before anyone tells me to go read them, and I've still got questions.

I'm running a 97 GSX with a built block (arp head studs, arp rod studs, eagle rods, ross pistons 8.5:1 .20 over), rebuilt head with stock components except for the HKS 272/272's, t3/t04E Super 60 stage 5 comp wheel .63 A/R, 3" tubular o2 housing, tial 38mm wastegate, 3" downpipe and catback, 780cc injectors.
i'm using a S-AFC and pocket logger to tune.

My question being, since the FAQ didn't cover all the injectors sizes or even explain why to use certain settings (it just used generic settings and stuff), would someone be able to better explain to me how to tune my vehicle?

unless you plan on running a gm mas as well to make up for the very large injectors you are going to run out of safc to tune with. On my STOCK 7bolt(as in no cams or anywork) and running 660's I was at -39 was my highest setting with most others in that are. With cams you would need to take out so much more air with the safc that you would not be able to take out enough with only being able to go to -50%. Second unless you have a very addaquete knowledge of how to tune the car with an safc I would not attempt to do so without watching and taking tips from someone who knows before hand.

Huh? with cams you will flow more air therefore you will have to richen it up some. And S-AFC tuning is not very hard at all, once you do it a few times it's really quite simple.

true, my bad my car was under huge changes I went from 15 pounds w/o cams to 26 w/cams which is why I had to remove even more air when I added cams my bad. And yes afc tunning isn't too hard but I still wouldn't go out there with one and test by practicing on my car.

Well then how does one learn to use one properly if not testing it on their car?

watch or listen to someone who knows how to use one without blowing up the engine. If you feel like learning by mistakes on your own car go ahead i'll learn by mistakes on other peoles cars.

too bad i don't have the option of learning from someone else. i live too far from anybody who'd want to affectively teach someone how to tune.

so i guess the question now is, should i keep the S-AFC II and get a GM MAFT to help? or should I should drop the S-AFC II and get an EPROM and DSMLink?
