Tuning help with a lot of knock

ok guys I know this doesn't go in this thread but I am unable to post in the tech.

So here goes, I seem to have a lot of knock on the interstate under light throttle. Please take a look at the log and let me know what you think. I logged the entire trip home from work so there is plenty of data to review. But the knock really starts to pick up around 53 seconds, 161 seconds, and around 205 seconds. the high knock is present the entire trip home.

Looks like something is banging around in your engine bay and causing it to pick up the knock. Go to the ALS/KNCK tab and set it to pick up at 3200 and 30 TPS. Also go through your bay and check to see if something is hitting or rattling. You can also check your knock sensor to see if it's loose or going bad. If there is goo coming out the back of it. It's time for a new one.

That would be awesome if that it all it is!! So you think it is a bogus reading and the reading is not realy knock? It doesn't knock when I do a pull just at crusing speed and light throttle..

I will give it a try and let you know what happends. I just do not want to damage the engine!!

Check the knock sensor as the other poster suggested. If any goo is coming out or is missing it needs replaced. Also if the knock sensor is too loose or too tight it will have some false readings as well. Perhaps it's loose in the hole. Also look around for anything that is loose that would be banging around too.

Probable phantom know since your not really at much boost if any sorry I can't look at your log on my phone but from what you are telling me this is what it sounds like look for bad knock sensor check the torqe on the sensor and like previous have said small possibility of something in the engine bay banging around

Good idea I think I will take it out tomorrow and check it out.

Would anyone happen to know the torqe for the knock sensor? And yes I am at very little to no boost when it hits 35 knock. If I get on it a little or go into boost the knock goes away. If I make a pull there is 0 knock the entire pull, I didn't think my tune was that far off. Although it is a real rough tune right now! I calc. my MPG and I am at 15 MPG on the interstate.. err that makes me sick

I think I will remove the knock sensor before I tell the ECU to ignore it. I would rather fix the problem than treat the symptom. The last thing I want is to damage the engine due to being lazy or some idiotic mistake.

I have the same problem as you ,and have done everything possible to fix this ,everything has been checked and replaced .I have it narrowed down to my lifters now ,so once I buy the revised ones I will find out ,might not be your problem ,but like others said check check for the easy fix first . mine has been like this for most of the year .good luck

OK, I Pulled the knock sensor out and checked to see if there was any goo or anything. Well there is no goo and the sensor looks pretty new, so someone has replaced it; i guess trying to fix the knock problem. I also looked for anythign loose that could be banging around and didn't find anything. So I guess it could be lifters.. Anyone else have any more ideas?
