ok I got a question on tuning for low throttle? On my 2g do I use the stft and ltft and use the addition method to make them 0 and thats all i do up to like 4k rpm? Or am i trying to make the o2 go to 0%?

After the low throttle is done dont I set the high throttle to the same as the low throttle? Thsi is what i read where i looked for tuning advice I just want confirmation.

PLease no links ive read jsut about everything.

your light throttle and full throttle aren't going to be the same. They will be set differently. If it was always the same they wouldn't have an option. Also what are you tuning with? What's done to your car?

Your just going to need more fuel on full throttle and you can run a bit leaner on low throttle. Just spin the nob to the left to pull fuel and to the right to add. I don't understand what you're asking about the o2 your not doing anything to it your fooling your ecu to think there is less air flow to pull fuel. All you are doing is changing how much air you ecu thinks is coming in so that different amounts of fuel are added and different timing if you pull to much fuel. 0% on the afc means that it runs whatever the ecu normally would run.

I understand that but ive got low throttle tuned in so that the ltft and stft equal 0. Thats what your suppose to do. So what about the rpm points on high throttle how do i do that, both high and low throttle have rpm points starting at 1k so im confused at what you mean byfull throttle.

What you need to do is set what throttle postion you want to be high throttle. I think mine was around 75% throttle. Yes it will have the same RPM points, but when you are closer to 100% throttle you'll need more fuel than at 20%. Most people leave low throttle zeroed out so that the ecu just controls normal driving, but if its to rich still pull fuel. High throttle you can start adding or pull fuel to fine tune your car when ## raping it. Does that help ?

ok now i get what you were saying. I got it set at 30 and 80 right now. All my rpm points are at zero. What i want to know is how to tune those points, as in tuning the low throttle, what do i look at to tune it ive heard thee different things, make the stft o, make the ltft 0, and then there was one that said add them together and when that equals zero thats where you want it. I know how to do it just not which one of those is correct.

Your just going to need more fuel on full throttle and you can run a bit leaner on low throttle.

Huh? Yes you will need a higher fuel volume, but you are going to have to pull out a lot more air at WOT than you do at cruise / idle. Also, at low throttle you are shooting for exactly what the ECU shoots for. You are just trying to compensate for the injectors at this point to maximize your gas mileage. There is no reason, nor is it a good idea, to go leaner than the ECU's target of 14.7:1.

WOT is a different story, in this case the ECU is shooting for 9.5:1. You need to compensate for the larger injectors and the pig rich factory AFR which is why your correction factors are much lower.

Please don't post if you are unsure of the correct answer. ;)

Once you have your Ne points set and have input the correct TPS trigger points, you want to start with the Lo throttle map. Rev the car to your first Ne point, normally 1k, and watch your FT's. Adjust the SAFC until your trims are both zero, or equal zero when added together. Continue this until you get to your 4k Ne point. After you get your 4k point dialed in, go ahead and use the 4k correction factor for the rest of the low throttle map.

Now, you can do one of 2 things.

1) Take your Lo throttle correction factors and use them as a baseline for you Hi throttle map (i.e. copy the same correction factors you got on your Lo map to the Hi map).

2) Calculate your baseline correction factor based on injectors size and start about 5% richer than the calculated value.

Just a couple of things:

1) Did you check the intake track for leaks?
2) Plugs & wires?
3) Maintence up to date?
4) Did you verify that your TPS reads 100% at WOT on the logger not on the SAFC?

Enjoy. :thumb:

EDIT <-- I just noticed that you don't have larger injectors yet. In that case, leave the SAFC set at zero and enjoy the nice blue display. In this case, if your FT's are off by anything more than 4 or 5%, you need to look into a mechanical problem.

Also i thought he may needmore fuel since he is on stock injectors or at least he never said anything bout them. If he's running stock he will have to run more fuel. I was also trying to help him get the high and low throttle points set.

i got a walbro 190. I turned my boost up to 15 and just left it all at 0. My car runs great as it is why mess with it until i get injectors and a turbo.
