General Tuning a NT 4g63 ECU

I just read on Apexi's site that AFC's and NEO's dont work on 90-99 NT Eclipses and Talons.

So that doesn't leave me with much to tune the 1g NT computer with. Any Ideas?

And I dont want a Turbo ECU (I want to fool around with the NT ECU)

I don't see why an AFC wouldn't work on a NT 4G63 ECU. When I turboed my old 92 NA car all I did was plug in a turbo ECU, and wire in a knock sensor.

the safc should work on your car. pick one up, their cheap now, I picked mine up for $150 bucks( used). my buddy made a whooping 8 whp on safc on a 2gnt, so their is power to gain, it all depends on your mods and tune.

It's easy to say things like "It should work" or "I dont see why it won't work".

A: No it does not. This is due to the A/F on this particular vehicle running on voltage outside of the +/-5 range. "


I just dont want to buy something I can't use. Maybe a wiseman can chime in.

A SAFC works fine on a 90-94 NT 4G63. There is nothing special and it's wired up the same way as on the turbo.

Can't speak to how well it works on a 2G NT 420A.

The 1g n/t maf signal functions in the same manner as a turbo of the same year. hertz count. The hertz count DOES signal at +5 volts. . . If the safc, alters the percentage of hertz count for a turbo car, it will alter the hertz count of a non-turbo car.

If you have a eprom n/t ecu you could even get that chipped the same way as you could on a turbo ecu.
