i currently have my stock 2g exhaust manifold tapped for pyrometer (from previous owner, i believe this was used for tunning purposes). i just got a new tubular mani so could i retap this into the first runner or will this cause some structural integrity? do i even need the pyrometer?

If its a tubular manifold your going to want to drill a hole and weld in a bung. The metal is to thin to just tap and thread it. As far as the pyrometer goes, thats up to you if you want to measure the temp.

well don't be hatin but i picked up the pacesetter ceramic coated 'headers'. i figured the $265 was worth a try with the 3 year warranty compared to $600 for the dnp. i've read tons about them and most people don't care for them eg: the creak or create excess heat. but many of them were only using the black painted finish versus the better ceramic coated. i do agree in that the welds are the best but i'm fairly happy with them as there is no uneveness what-so-ever on the bracket. thus my only real concern is going to be with them cracking thus i'll have to reweld, and for this i don't think i'll be putting on a bung just as a precaution until the perhaps future welding is needed. lastly i've also read on here that several people have had theirs on for several years without any problems so i guess that it's just the luck of the draw....

luck of the draw, or the amount of abuse that is thrown at it.
i personally have an obx manifold which is notorious for cracking, but I have polyurethane motor mounts and have welded in 2 braces on the manifold, 2 years and no cracks whatsoever

LOL indeed. but about your original post, if you wish to use the egt probe (which isnt a bad idea, if you plan on boosting a good bit) weld a bung on and tap the bung like the first responder said.
