I need my 95tsi to be my daily driver for about a couple more years until i get out of college. And i know it depends on the car and how well you take care of the car, but generally,,,, how high can i mod the TSI before it becomes an unreliable daily driver? Like turbo upgrades, fuel, bolt ons etc.

it's extremely hard to tell and it varies from car to car and how well it has been and will be maintained. there are several 300+whp daily driven cars that give their owners very few problems and then there are a few stock (or close to stock) that have problems all the time.

one thing is certain though, a car's reliability will go down with more power mods that you add. as long as you know what you're doing and don't push your car over its limits, it should be fine.

i've had my car for almost a year now, put almost 25k miles on it and its only left me on the side of the road once (bad alternator) which was pretty minor. with this said though, take care of your car and it will take care of you. be sure to do all scheduled maintance and know how to prevent problems, instead of trying to fix it after it happened. doing little things like exhaust, intake, and porting will give you plenty of power and still keep your car reliable.

Simply put, for EVERY mod you do you can deduct one point off for reliability.

My TSI is a daily driver, trust me i know. Good advise when starting to mod. Make sure your AAA is up-to-date :thumb:

I had a highly modded GST as a daily drive for 2 years and never had a problem at all. Although it was a rebuilt engine and well taken care of.

Theres no real answer to this question

simply put is right...no way can you make such a narrow statement. Its just not true. To a certain point it is. If you know what you are doing and get ALL the supporting mods, you can still have a reliable car.
