Hey everyone I'm trying to change my gear oil but I'm having problems identifying my fill and drain plugs. My trans doesn't look like the one on vfaq, I know the previous owner said he had a new one put in. I've put up pictures of what i think are the fill and drain and hopefully you can tell me if they are. The fill plug picture was taken from the front of the car and the drain plug from the passenger side of the trans.

You are correct drain from bottom fill up on side. keep pouring oil in tranny fill until the oil starts pouring out of fill hole.

thats for the replies that cleared it up, vfaq is my best friend but its not always the clearest when it comes to directions, which is why I wanted to double check I was cranking off the right bolts since the vfaq picture is different from my trans as far as i can tell

Well thats cause your a hack A ;P LOL. You want a steady stream of fluid to trickle out before you put the filler cap back in place.

I did mine and it was a frickin' mess. My suggestion to anyone trying this is to get a nice long piece of clear hose so that it's easy to go from the top. Also, it'd be nice to get a bolt that screws into the tranny and then drill out the center of it so that you can ziptie it to the hose. Then you could just screw the hose into the tranny and fill it up without making a mess trying to hold the hose in the tranny.

I hadn't had any problems once I removed the air intake and got at it from the top. There's just enough room to put one of those little bottles with the pump that fits down inside. Definitely use a clear hose, though. You'll know how much is actually flowing in by the bubbles trapped in the fluid.

If you go from the bottom then you'll probably want to raise the car, but then you'll overfill with the front of the car higher than the rear. It's really easy to overfill by a good bit with the way most of the fluid goes toward the back.
