I was just looking around on hopupracing.com and I came across this. I did a search and didn't find anything about it. Anyone have any experience with this oil filter or have any feedback on it? I'm not planning on buying it, just curious about it.

Here's the link:

35 micron? So, no filtering? $150?

Let me check my calender.

No, not April 1st, what else could it be..... surely no one's this dumb.....

Oh- and I'd not buy from any dealer calling a "break down" a "brake down".

At least they provide free shipping. ;) Seriously though just buy an OEM filter as they are cheap and work fine.

For around the same price you can buy oil bypass filtration systems that will filter down to 1 micron.

Don't bother save your money for something better and just change you oil more often if your worried about it.

New here but in fairness to trufilter I run one of these on my 350z and i love it. anytime you have a forced induction vehicle your filter swells and compresses and the chances of poping the filter is eliminated. i have blown off so many filters this is the only thing that works. also yes power is not made but stock power is now free because the oil pump has a large amount of pressure taken off it.
just a response in fairness! its a popular product and all bad feedback with no testing by dsm is not good. if you guys are tuners you wouldnt knock it before you tried it. if you are like me in tuning any more hp and effeciency counts!

Oh, please do explain this one to us. Especially the part about the swelling and compressing filter

That's why I love the internet. Learn something new everyday. Who knew that an oil filter would be the HP bottleneck in turbocharged cars. :p

i wasnt aware that 350zs are force inducted....

also, what the hell are you talking about? this is almost as comical as the person that was saying that the t25 leaks boost at 13psi.

anyhow, ive seen cars running 27psi on a fp 3052 (gsx) and using a fram filter and it didnt pop. i reasonably doubt you are going to need something like that on a DSM. look, if you need to filter out really tiny particles from your oil, chances are you are being really anal. relax, the stock filter works fine, and so does fram and other companies. spending $150 on an oil filter is something i might do if i was incredibly rich and liked wasting money on stupid stuff that does nothing... right after i install my ebay "horsepower increasing resistor!".

wow. you guys are really aggressive. i was just responding to a question with research that the motor builder had done. it is not going to give you 6 additional horsepower but with the pressure off of the oil pump you get more power with the aftermarket add ons. not saying bolt this on and you get 6 hp. but we all know we want as much power as possible for the money we are spending. i actually didn't believe it either and called them and they are nice guys at trufilter they ended up sponsoring me one just so i could see the efficiency improvement (big difference in oil pressure). so the reason for my reply was to back them and let you know how well they worked. They also are looking to sponsor scca adn drifters and drag cars. you may want to check it out. www.trufilter.com

True that it's not fair for us to dogpile you, and for that I apologize on behalf of my lesser-evolved cellmates.

If there was any gain off this filter, it'd be from their 35 micron passages. Normal filters are about 6 micron. But I still highly doubt there's anything to be gained at the oil filter end.

If anyone is having probs with your filters swelling due to high oil press' just put a hose clamp around the guts of it so it keeps its original shape!
