Lets face it... DMS's require work... I have had my engine out of my car so many times, keeping the engine bay free of scratches is almost impossible. So, during my current build I decided to try something new. I purchased color-matched spray paint from my local auto paint supplier here in New York. Cleaned, wet sanded, and sprayed the entire bay, then applied Duplicolor clear textured bed liner as a protective clear coat. I am pleased with the results, the surface is rough, but not rough enough to be uncomfortable while working on the car. The finish hides imperfections, and so far seems to be very durable. I will give an update later on for those who are interested in this coating.

Thanks. I've been working on the car non-stop since I painted it. So far its held up nicely against staining and it cleans easily. The coating is not as rough as a ryno-liner, and its not "rubbery". Since finishing oil, power steering fluid, and brake fluid cleaned off of it without issue.
