Ok i've done some searching to no avail. I saw on sheps site that their stage 3 tranny holds something like 4-600hp. I'm curious as to what the Stage 2 and 4 hold? Also, TRE doesn't state anything with a horsepower rating.
I've thought about it and the setup of your car shouldn't matter i guess but my horsepower goals are 400.
I'm trying to beat my dads time of 11.6 on his gutted Nova. I dont know what i'm planning in terms of turbo and whatnot just yet but my engine is going to a local shop for forged interals here after the 5th of December FINALY.
It will be a street driven drag car, no nitrous and street tires. I'll also be keeping all of the comfort features: A/C, Back seat, sound deadening material. I'm about 190lbs.
I also havn't decided which shop to go through. I plan on calling them in a few days to check out their options...
I will be launching the crap out of the car.
I'm pretty sure thats it. If it comes down to it i might just need to ask these shop owner guys.
Thanks

theres people on here who are running a stock trans with 600 HP, im not sure if theres a set "HP rating" per trans, a stock trans can hold the power, but if you drag it, it most likely wont stand up to the beating too long, a built trans from either TRE or shep will do the trick, if you are still streeting your car while dragging it occasionally, with 400HP if you have the money i would get a stage 3 from shep, again thats just my personal preference.

I put down 727awhp but I guess that would explain why I ripped all the teeth off 3rd and 4th gear on two seperate occasions. I had a stage 3. saving for the Dogbox now.

It all comes down to the driver on how it is shifted and if the clutch is adjusted properly. Jake (evileagle) is doing high 9s on the stock trany. An upgraded trany should be one of the first mods anyone should do its just so much nicer driving the car you dont have to worry about not hitting a gear at 7500 it just slides right in. I would at least get sheps stage 3 with 4 spider diff.
