transmission vacuum lines

I've got a 91 tsi awd and was wonder does it matter where the vacuum lines on the transmission go to? Or can I just block them off? They were taken off and not marked.

WTF

I hate to tell you this but those aren't vacuum lines, dood; that's the transmission coolant lines. DO NOT remove those and cap them off.
 
I'm not really sure to be honest. It was a friend asking me. I havnt' touched on of those auto trannys in a while. I thought i remember some vacum lines going to it. I know there are the tranny cooler lines and stuff as well.
