Well I ended up with a new motor/trans. combo because my motor went south on me, and anyhow I went and got one off of ebay (my first mistake). Then I took the car to the mechanic (second big mistake), and after $2000 and a bunch of parts threw into the mix, it is in my car. I had to wait for a stub axle to come in (should have been apparent at this point) for the new trans. and then it gets to running but I have a CEL. The CEL is po700, which is the general trans code. Take it to the trans shop and he tells me that the problem is that the new trans does not have a lockup torque converter. So here lies my problem: I used the TCU that came with the new trans and that should have made it work but no. The trans is out of an RVR. I have seen a few other posts on here regarding getting this trans, and was wondering if there are any solutions?

The trans sometimes has a hard time going into gear (fluid is full and new), and reverse, etc. It feels like it is slipping a bit and I get the feeling this is due to that lockup wire being disconnected. I tried grounding it on a hunch to give it resistance but no go. There has to be a workaround, maybe connecting the solenoid to it and just letting it set under the hood or something. I've talked to a few people who have told me that the lockup should be no issue, and that I will just get worse gas mileage and the gear ratio may be different. Other than that, I am not worried, other than the slipping. Can someone enlighten me here?

Here is almost the exact same one I think:

eBay Motors: 95-98 Mitsubishi Eclispe turbo automatic tranny ,AWD (item 350136235073 end time Dec-15-08 08:15:16 PST)

My other question is that, I have the ECU from the RVR and the TCU as well (already put that in and that didn't solve my problem) but if I put the ECU in (not sure, will it even fit? It should...) then would that turn my CEL off? I can't think right now because it's late, but I think that might help...

Well someone suggested putting in a 10 ohm resistor in line with the lockup tc wire, and I did so, I tried putting the other end to ground as well as to the battery ground, and I'm getting nothing. I don't know what to do...any other suggestions?
