My car had been sitting for the winter and I was heading to the shop to get new rims and tires
put on. Car is shifting fine and dandy and then 15 mins later i couldnt shift... Put in the clutch and nothing... 15 seconds later i put in the clutch and almost a grinding noise... So I have no idea... I jacked the front end up and the car in neutral and then I just pushed the clutch in still in neutral and it was making a grinding type noise. Any Ideas?

Alrighty ill pull the tranny... I put a new clutch in it about a year ago... First time doing it so maybe I even ####ed suttin up.

Another posibility would be if your clutch stripped (makes the same noise as a bad throwout bearing before it goes). I had this happen to my car while I was driving up hill. I shifted into 3rd and all I got was grinding. If I pressed in the clutch I got grinding as well. You will find out pretty fast after you pull your transmission as to what the culprit is.
