Okay, this plug was not tagged during/finishing a bottom end swap. Hoping this solves the low power issues & slight tranny shifting issues. Searched a few threads, I mean FEW. And apparently people forgot that a picture is worth 1,000 words? WTF

Car is stuck in what might be "Limp mode". Seems to take off really sluggish, like it is stuck in 3rd gear. Reverse is damn near non-existent. This mystery plug has four green wires coming off it. Mounted directly to the transmission.

This is on a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Automatic.

Anyway, here are some pics. Obviously this is coming straight off the transmission, closest to the passenger side. Not a long plug, can't tug it far. And I have removed cruise control, IAC, EGR, Air conditioning, and replaced my stock fans with slim line fans (meaning there is no plug for these, wired straight thru).

It has purple divider on the inside, with 4 prongs, and has 4 wires. I checked the http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...047-2g-engine-bay-electrical-connections.html and for some reason, it isn't listed in there :ohdamn:

Regardless, let's do this. DsmLite has reported one CEL & that was 0700 which is a transmission code. I've held out long enough making a thread for starting issues which turned out to be swapped neutral tranny plug & eventually a bad starter (which was new but remanufactured from Autozone).

Ideas and hints, as anyone prior has failed to post pics of what might be the "solenoids" and where it actually plugs into.

If I,m seeing that 1st picture correctly, there are 2 wires coming from 2 different sensors on the transmission? If so it looks like they are input and output speed sensors for the transmission. You'll have to dig around and find where their harness plug in is. The speed sensors are essential for the trans to work properly.

The vehicle speed sensor is plugged in, that is the one located on the backside of the motor inside the tranny mount.

This one here is coming directly off the transmission & is one gray sensor with 4 wires going into it. I went to autozone last night, and they printed a diagram... could it be:

15. Solenoid valve connector
16. Pulse generator connector

Those are the #'s correlating to the autozone website to help anyone who needs visuals. I am actually going to step outside her shortly to remove the battery & tray to take pix of connectors that are connected to eliminate any unneeded brainstorming. Need focus :D

Here we go

First two pictures are of the cruise control. This & the mystery plug look identical. So I doubt they can plug into eachother haha.

3rd picture is of the cruise control, IAC, and... egr possibly? Even though the gray plug can fit into the mystery plug. It did not change my CEL 0700 or tranny shifting abilities.

4th is of the IAC, 6 wires confirmed.

5th & 6th is of the mystery plug in question, has 2 solid green wires & two green wires with a black strip on them. 4 wires total into one grey plug. Purple divider.

7th is of the front o2 sensor connected

8th is of the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) tagged that and its obvious where it goes.

9th is where i think 2 wires off the mystery plug go into ontop of the tranny.

10th pic is the location of that blimp view.

:hmm:

*edit* a security token is missing & preventing me from uploading pictures?

Seeing as it's right off the transmission, have you looked for the pulse generator plug (that I linked to above) from the harness side? This really sounds like it. Make sure you didn't mix it up with the front o2 plug as it looks similar.

Just uploaded two new pictures. This is literally the only plug I can see that fits. It has the dual side clips on it. So not just any plug will fit. I also posted a pic of my o2 plug, that is correct I believe.

Assuming this is of the mystery plug (left side) and possibly harness connection (right side), this looks to be the pulse generator plug based on the harness connection wire colors (red, white, black, and green). They match to what was posted in the thread I linked...if you still haven't checked it out ;)

Did check it, his wire looks blue. Mine more green which caused a delay haha. But still in limp mode.

Could the 'oil temp sensor connector' & 'kickdown servo switch connector' be keeping me in limp mode? They look identical. And I just swapped them to see. & they do not fit. So cancel that.

What about this Solenoid Valve connector? Its listed on a diagram right next to the Pulse Generator Connector.

I've been searching for days & read that it takes approximately 10 shifts for the TCU to relearn. Do I just need to drive the car? Before I swapped the bottom end out, the car was shifting flawlessly. Throwing no CEL.

On the harness side, it has 4 wires - blue with yellow stripe, red, gray, orange. This plug controls oil pressure solenoid, torque converter clutch solenoid, and two shift control solenoids.

Not sure which oil temp sensor connector you're referring to (I don't see anything in the FSM, and I didn't realize there was a factory sensor for any oil temp), but the kickdown servo switch connecter has a brown wire with green stripe.

The plug that comes off the tranny with the purple divider plugs into a connector that comes out of the harness to the right of my battery (under the IC piping also).

Edit... Sorry i am late to the party... :(

Limp mode is gone. Success. I don't know if it was because I needed to disconnect the battery for an extended time. The TCU actually goes into a sleep mode I read. So voila, she shifts. No more CEL.
