1G transmission rebuild kit?

Hey, before I go to a shop and have my transmission rebuilt, I was wondering if there's a place to go to buy a rebuild kit anywhere for a 90 Talon TSI AWD manual. My dad's a maintenance mechanic and he's been working on cars for years, and I know we could do most of the work ourselves, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a place I could get reliable parts. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
