i tried searching, but didnt find anything helpful, so does anyone know how to get the tranny mount off? the car is a 96 auto n/t, and i tried everything to get it off, but it just wont come. it moves up and down, and when it gets to like 1/2" left it just stops, like its hitting something, but nothing is there. im putting in prothane mounts, and had the front done, and need this one so i can put it all back together, but it wont budge. should i try taking the front mount back off, and lowering the engine back down? or try jacking the tranny up some?

Moved to 420a bolt on where you can get more precise answers.

thanks for moving it, i didnt know i was even allowed to post in here, so i just did the newbie forum. but does anyone else have any advice, or actually know how to get it off?

A floor jack is truly your best friend when doing any sort of engine mount work. I'm not sure exactly what you unbolted, but jack the tranny up enough where you can easily unbolt it from the tranny. With the transmission still supported by the jack, remove the center bolt of the mount, and take the whole thing out. There shouldn't be much to it.

You'll probably need to remove the front engine mount again to be able to lift the transmisson enough.

Which tranny mount are you trying to take off? The one by the firewall or the one by the DS fender area?
For the one by the firewall it should be very simple, just remove the intake system, battery, washer fluid bottle and unbolt it. The one by the DS fender area is a little more difficult, you'll have to remove the battery holder bracket for good clearance, make sure you remove the horizontal bolt/nut so you can remove the mount and then there should be about 3 nuts that you have to unscrew (I believe these are the ones that screw the mount to the bracket on the tranny) then lift the mount up and out.

yeah, im doing the one below the battery, right next to the fender. i have everything unbolted, all 3 nuts, plus the center bolt too, but as soon as i lift it up, it just stops like its hitting something, but nothing is there  i mean i dont have the battery tray bracket removed, but its not hitting that. i tried taking it off too, but i lost the only 12mm socket when trying to take it off, so now im screwed
