420A Transmission making clunking sound when put into gears

I recently changed the clutch in my 1999 eclipse gs manual, and it makes a clunking noise when put into gears. The sound gets louder and louder as you increase gears and it is also really hard to shift and put into reverse. Maybe the clutch is not disengaged completely? The car is also sitting all on jack stands above ground with no wheels so I don't know if that makes a difference. The noise also especially gets loud as you release the clutch pedal when put into gear. Hopefully this is something small. Thanks!!!!!

Does it have a lot of vibration?? I'd have to say when mine did that it was from not pressing my throw out bearing in enough into the fork... XD haha yeah.... it's possible the bolts that go through your ring gear, (or flex plate) need to be tightened down a bit. What clutch are you using?
