My tranny is leaking up top from the shift lever. The car is a 91 GST (fwd). I cannot seem to find anything in my manual on how to fix this. What is involved in fixing this? Is there some type of seal to replace? I know you have to disconnect the shift cables, but after that I am clueless.

There is a breather on top of the transmission that some people have reported to be missing or leaking.

yea i have the same problem and no one seems to have any information on this the pic above is not the seal. the seal number that i have from the factory is MD747660 and is described by the factory as an oil seal. the problem that i have been having is pulling the parts off and putting the new seal in. i get both levers free from one another but then when i pull on the lever i want to remove it comes out about 1/2 in before something from inside catches it....???? thats where i get lost
