my car is runnung with synthetic trans fluid now, is it safe to drain and switch to non synthetic fluid.

well the reason being is that i was using formula one trans fluid and i was reading on a forum a while ago that pennzoil synchromesh was the way to go. And since the bottle doesnt say anyting about it being synthetic and the formula one does, i didnt want to make the switch without knowing that it's safe.

Ahh, I use synchromesh, and, well, I just put it in, but my car doesnt move right now due to a clutch problem, so I cant tell you if theres a big improvement in shift quality, but I also heard that it is the way to go, and if you dont have a lot of power, or you dont race your car all the time and put a lot of stress on your tranny, then synchromesh would be fine.

ive always known people to use syncromesh as well. i personally have a pretty used trans....i put synchomesh in and now it grinds more...im going to switch back to heavy weight...but thats just because its screwed...

I used GM Synchromesh at one point too. Not impressed one bit. It was no different then the cheap Napa stuff that was in it before. I just bought some Redline MTL and MT90. I will be putting that in once the car is out of storage. I've heard great things about using that mix, so we'll see how it goes!

^ Good experience with both Redline and Royal Purple......

I personally use Mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic, but then again I'm running a getrag.

well till now i have been using the mobil 1 75-90. i never had a problem with it besides the price. i just got the pennzoil synchromesh cause of a forum claming it to be the best. i have yet to switch. should I?

well i just got done switching tran fluid from the mobil 1 to the pennzoil synchromesh and i got to say way better way way better car runs and feels better.
