hi, i need to rebuild my transfer case due to the fact that the part of the transfer case that has teeth that connect to the driveshaft is very worn. the teeth are short and worn down. i am afraid to go to the track with it in this condition because it might give out. are all 1g transfer cases interchangeable? is there anything i can do to make the transfer case stronger? any recommendations are greatly appreciated. by the way, if my tranfercase does give out, can i still drive the car with the front wheels or not?
hope to hear from you

The splines due vary, make sure you count them. Also I believe auto trans t-cases are not interchangable with manuals.

You could rebuild it, but it probably be cheaper to find a used case, you should be able to find one for $50-100.

There is an aftermaket t-case and driveshaft out there, but unless your running 9-10 secs in the quarter it's not worth it or launching at 6K all the time.

You CANNOT drive the car without the transfer case!

Yea, I talked to TRE about rebuilding my transfer case when it blew, and they said that you would have to get all OEM parts from Mitsu and it would cost a fortune. They had a few in the shop, but they were 22 spline. I ended up getting mine used for $100. Just start shopping for a used one.
