On the way to the beach I felt a slight nudge and loose power within the drive train. Pulled over to the the nearest store and sat there for 30-45min and than tried leaving again and I felt a faint nudge and than everything felt fine so on my way to the beach. After a few days there and driving the car one night around town it was fine and than the next night I got on it once and than a while later coming from a stop at a intersection the car jerked forward one hard time and lost power within the drive train again but this time the car stayed this way.

I can gradually gain speed and and keep it steady around 35-40mph but if I go to speed up the clutch is slipping I am assuming as you can smell the clutch. The tranny shifts fine also.

In recent time I have token the tranny out and looked at everything and notice nothing wrong or any binding of the PP. Take not that I have not checked the TC yet.

Has anyone experienced this before and could the TC cause the clutch and things to fill like its slipping if it is messed up?

Check the T-case fluid level ASAP. Top it up and if it take a lot of fluid then you found your problem.

somthing broke in the driveline and its your vc thats slipping....your doing more damage driving it like this.

I driven it back to my wife dads house like it is and parked it I have not done anything more than that.

After examining the tranny everything seems to feel and sound ok as well I did not have any metal shavings or debris on the magnet or in the oil after draining it empty. Exactly what does the VC do?

Please note that this is a Shep Stage 3 tranny and has been in the car no more than 9 months total.

OK here is something I felled to mentioned / asked.....if the TC or rear end is shot would the front tires spin as they would on a FWD car.....mine dont spin, it tachs up and all but does nothing more other than burn the clutch up.

I don't know about the rear end but if the TC is locked then all 4 wheels are locked. You can still rev in neutral but the car wont move in gear.

Well it must not be the TC as I drove it from where it happen to my wife's fathers house at a steady 35-40 has it would only allow me to. Getting up to spend was slow as the clutch was slipping as launching out of the hole in 2nd gear...hehehem and going any faster than 40mph it just wanted to slip.

The axle was still bolted to the block.

But over the weekend I went and hauled it back so I can look at it more and as I did not look at the transfer case I say its the problem as you can tell in the pics what I found.

So I guess this is why it did what it did.

grease up the splines in that tc sleeve and on the output shaft of the tranny to to prevent them from stripping and rusting like we can see on the picture

I do this before installing on the car anyway but in this case the TC was at the beach for a couple weeks outside on the ground so I say that cased that problem but as the TC locked up the splines are not all that great anymore (something had to give and lucky me it was not the splines on the Tranny output shaft.
