transfer case input smaller WTH

i recently just got a transfer case from a local guy free so cant complain, i went to put it on and it seem the input shaft is smaller than my original that's on my car, i mean you can tell from looking at it that its smaller.

he said its a 1g transfer case but im stumped as why it dont fit.

Maybe its for a 22 spline, and you have a 23 spline?

Count the number of splines on your output shaft. There was a 22 spline unit as well as one with 23 splines.

The 22 spline t-case has an all aluminum case and the 23 spline t-case has a combination of cast iron(front) and aluminum(rear) case. Also the 22 spline only came on 90 vehicles.

i will have to look at them next time i get the car up in the air, it could be a different spline count but when i find out im selling it on here.

I have a 22 spline t case in my garage with a cast iron housing.
