I have a quick question about the 1g dsm transfer case I was hoping someone could answer. I understand there are differences such as bolt up points and spline count on manual vs auto transfer cases. I have a 1992 laser awd with a manual trans, my t case (23 spline) has bad wear around the input seal, it wore into the case right where the seal is and destroyed half the seal and the case. I have a spare automatic transfer case (23 spline) and I was wondering if I could use the front half of the automatic case (part that bolts to trans) with the back half of the manual transmission case(part that goes to driveshaft) or will that cause problems or not even bolt up? Thanks in advance.

I have read its possible to use a auto tcase as long as its gear ratio is the same. I read that the spline count is year specific, not auto/maual. So it pretty much is that you can use a auto on a M/T but not a M/T on a auto
