I mounted the trans up to the block today. 2g 5spd manual trans going on a 6 bolt.
I noticed that on the bottom by the oil pan its open and you can see the flywheel and that. is there some plate that bolts up there?

Yea there is a plate that covers that. I believe it is called the flywheel inspection cover. It should have a hole in it for the starter too.

The flywheel inspection cover is what he is referring to, it's a small plate that just covers that small area next to the oil pan. The plate that has the hole for the starter is called the starter plate, this has 2 bolts that bolt onto the block and then 4 more that bolt onto the transmission itself when it's bolted up to the block. They're two different plates, just for clarification.
