I just finished the swap myself.

Yes, you need a new starter. They will look identicle, but the gear is longer. I was able to reuse my AT axle's. Had to get new hubs and they were seized in the knuckles. Get a FULL length SS clutch line from SLOWBOY racing for $80. Goes all the way from the master to the slave. It will make life much easier. I had to use a angle drill with holesaws to cut the holes out in the firewall. Just a tip.

I have to get a new rear motor mount bracket, and a trans mount and bracket. Your's will likely be the same. You can just unplug the TCU and leave it in, as I did. It will be MUCH easier than removing it. I had to stick a screwdriver in there to get the connectors off of it. You need the shifter assembly and the linkage. Clips for linkage also. It goes through the hole where the old linkage was. It's tough to route it, but it slides to the right of the ECU, and directuly under it if I remember right. Thats all I can think of right now. Hope it helps.

thanx 4 the info..yea i figured running the steal line was going to be a pain..

thanx agian

I unplugged the TCU. Did you tie the two wires together on the inhibitor plug that use to run to your tranny? If you couldn't start it, how are you so sure that your starter works? The gear should be too small, and not hit the flywheel.

inhibitor plug?? LOL uh i dragged up the old tranny and hooked the sensor up and grounded it to the chassis, anyways i got a rig that worked with the sensors, a lil ghetto tho. i found a piece of pipe that had three openings, two openings i screwed in the park/neutral sensors and soldered a wire to each tip ran it out the third hole and grounded it to the chassis, it works LOL, but if your way is better looking by getting all these unneeded wires outta here then let me know how i can do this. and about the starter, mine is a nt so i bought a modular clutch(clutch/pp/flywheel assembly all riveted together) and hooked it to the crank through the original drive plate. so my starter is perfect. need a head tho, ruined all valves  , LOL know anyone who has one?? but uh lemme know about that inhibitor plug thing...

also i heard of that ss slowboy hydralic line, does it make the clutch easier to push also?? i got stage 3 clutch LOL.
thanx :dsm:

Yes I believe it does, slightly. Make sure you get the full length line that runs from the slave to the master, its about 80 bucks. As for the inhibitor plug, it plugged into where the old shift linkage ran. On the plug, there are 3 rows of wires. On the second row, there are 4 wires. Cut the two end ones on the 2nd row, and splice them together and the car will start, even with the clutch out. Be careful, but that is way better than all that rigging you just did! ROFL

LOL, do i need the tcu though, i wanna get rid of all this sh*t. like ive heard of people pullin out their tcu's altogether. i jus wanna know if i can do this... and as of starting with the clutch out, well my car don't start but it turns over, so i was driving my electric car around in my driveway ROFL , its hilarious, sounds like an r/c car... LOL well if anyone knows how to pull the tcu lemme know

thnx :dsm:

No you don't need the TCU. To remove it, remove the passenger side kick panel and get in there and unplug it. I think there are two bolts that attach it.
