My tranny is popping out of first....at 120,000 miles I figured I'd just get it rebuilt. After calling a few local shops and getting $1300.00 estimates just to replace broken parts, I decided to check on Sheps, Jacks, and TRE prices. I discovered that TRE is about 2 hours away from me. the problem is...they dont remove and reinstall the tranny just rebuild or exchange. I've never removed a FWD/AWD tranny and its cold as hell here in MI. I dont know anything about adjusting the clutch on these cars, but I dont have $300 to pay a shop to take it down and reinstall it (none of the shops would do it, unless they're rebuilding it anyway) I wanted to replace the TOB, and slave cylinder anyway, and add the shifter bearings and bushing kit. Should I attemp this (I do work on cars, just never did a clutch or pulled an fwd tranny before) or maybe buy a rebuild kit from one of Shep or TRE and have a local shop do it?
